Compose a NEW Fax
There are 3 different ways to send a fax using Yabroo i.e. Fax from within Yabroo, Print to Yabroo(from within any application) and Fax with Yabroo(right-clicking on any file)
Fax from Yabroo
Click on the
button in the left hand menu. This will launch the "Send Fax" form
Starting at the top the "Multiple Files" list box display the files (documents) you would like to fax. To add a file simply click the
button to launch your file browser. Select the file you wish to add then click "Open". You can attach as many files to the fax as needed, the recipient will always receive the fax as a single document
You can just as easily remove a file from the list by selecting it and clicking on the
button
Next you will want to add the Recipient fax number. If you already have contacts in your address book start typing the persons name in the search names text box. The text box turns red and filters the contact list to include any instances of the search filter as you type.
As soon as you have found the contact you were searching for click the "Add Recipient" button to move the contact into the Recipients list. If you have selected the wrong contact, you can remove them by selecting their name from the "Selected Recipients list" and clicking the "Remove Recipient" button
Even if the contact is not in your Fax Address Book - you can still add them to your "Selected Recipient" list by entering their name in the "Search Names" filter (optional) then the Fax Number (required) and clicking on the "Add Recipient" button.
You can synch you Fax Address Book with your Vista/Outlook contacts or add contacts to your Fax Address Book on the fly by clicking on the "Address Book" Button.
If you want to send a coversheet with this fax, check this option and enter your coversheet text in area provided.
The general text tab gives you the option to add another page of text to your fax. Typically you would use this feature when you want to send a simple fax note without any file attachments.
Once you are sure all your selections are correct click the
button to send your fax. The fax Immediately the fax will be moved to the Outbox until it has been sent
Once sent the message will be moved to your "Sent Messages" store

Document Rendering
When Yabroo sends a fax it first tries to convert all the file attachments to PDF using Adobe Acrobat PDF Creator - we refer to this process as document rendering. Do not be concerned if you do not have this application as it is included as part of the Yabroo installation . Depending on how Yabroo was installed you may notice a PDF Creator shortcut icon on your desktop after installing Yabroo.
You may notice the screen flashing as it opens each application and renders it to PDF for faxing. Please wait for Yabroo to finish rendering before continuing with your work.
Print to Yabroo (from with an application)
This is probably the easiest way to send a fax using Yabroo. This is an example of sending a fax from a Word document and should work from any application where Yabroo is listed as a printer
From the File menu option select print to launch the print dialog box. Select Yabroo as the printer from the printer drop-down list.
Next the "Yabroo: Print to Fax "dialog will allowing you to select a single Recipient and add a coversheet before faxing it.
If you want to send to more than just one recipient or want to attach multiple files then click the "More.." button to open up Yabroo "Send Fax" form.
Fax with Yabroo (right-clicking on any file)
Another way to quickly send a fax using Yabroo is to right-click the file you wish to fax and select "'Fax with Yabroo"
This will launch the "Yabroo: Print to Fax "dialog will allowing you to select a single Recipient and add a coversheet before faxing it.
If you want to send to more than just one recipient or want to attach multiple files then click the "More.." button to open up Yabroo "Send Fax" form.
Creating a File Association
If a document fails to render it's usually because there is no application associated with it. What this means is that your computer does not know how to open, read, edit or print the file. You can usually tell when a file has no application associated with it when the little icon on the left hand side shows as one of those no-name brand icons
. Typically most document types that you wish to send via Yabroo will have an application associated with it.
In the example below my file with the extension .txt has no application associated with it. This is very unusual since .txt files are normally associated with notepad - fortunately it is simple enough to create a file association.
To create a file association, right click on the file to launch the options dialog -> select -> "Open With". Windows will provide a short-list of possible associations to choose from. Selecting one of these options will create a one-time-only association - for a permanent solution and a more substantial list of possibilities select -> "Choose program".
Next you will have the option to choose a program already on your computer or to look on the internet. In most cases you will choose to "Select the program from a list" then click "OK"
Now select the program you wish to associate with your file type from the list - in this case I have selected Notepad to associate with my .txt documents.
Before you click "OK" select the option to "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" if you want to make sure that windows will always have a program associated with this type of file.
Alternatively you can set your file options by selecting -> Tools -> folder Options from your file explorer window. The "Folder Options" dialog allows you to make association for any file type.
